AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn fans will once again be able to celebrate victories by rolling the oak trees at Toomer’s Corner with toilet paper.Auburn had asked fans not to roll the new trees after their planting in February 2017 until they were established enough to avoid damage. The trees were removed after being poisoned by Alabama fan Harvey Updyke in 2010.Two new live oaks were planted in 2015 but both were removed after being damaged by fire while celebrating a win over LSU.“The rolling of Toomer’s Corner is one of the nation’s top sports traditions,” Auburn President Christopher B. Roberts said. “Our fans have come together for decades on the corner of Magnolia and College to celebrate our big wins.“In recent years, we continued our cherished tradition by rolling different trees, but I am very excited that the Auburn family will once again be able to roll our most prominent trees.”Updyke, who died in 2020, had pleaded guilty to poisoning the trees, which were planted...Browns DEs Alex Wright, Isaiah Thomas both undergo knee surgeries, will miss start of season

Feeling lucky?

The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever is up for grabs Tuesday night. The odds of winning are slim, less than 1 in 302 million, but if someone lucks out, they’ll wake up more than $1.5 billion richer — at least, before taxes. The reason the jackpot grew so big is no one has matched all the necessary numbers going back to mid April, but that’s all due to change Tuesday night, according to customers who bought their tickets from Crescent Wine and Spirits in Bowie, Maryland.“Of course, everybody thinks they have the winning ticket, but I know I have it,” said one woman, who chose to stay anonymous because of the windfall she’s expecting in her bank account. She vowed most people will never know she won.“My neighbors will probably find out when I start doing things to the house,” she said. “I mind my own business, I expect them to mind their own business,” she added with a laugh. The other four biggest Mega Millions jackpots were all won by a single ticket, but apparently that won’t be the...Latest news
