By Mark Gurman | BloombergApple Inc. set a June 5 date for the event where it plans to unveil a mixed-reality headset, the first major new product since its smartwatch debuted eight years ago.The company scheduled its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, better known as WWDC, to kick off on that Monday and run through Friday, June 9. It typically uses the first day of the conference to discuss its next-generation platforms and operating systems. This year’s conference will be held as an “all-day experience” at headquarters in Cupertino, California.“WWDC23 is going to be our biggest and most exciting yet, and we can’t wait to see many of you online and in person at this very special event!” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of developer relations.Central to the agenda this time around will be the headset, likely to be dubbed the Reality One or Reality Pro, Bloomberg News has reported. SAN FRANCISCO — A Bay Area man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for conspiring with four others to distribute fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine in San Mateo County, court records show.Raudel Macias, 58, was sentenced last month after pleading guilty to conspiracy and heroin sales charges. U.S. District Judge Edward Chen ordered him to report to prison by June 23, court records show.Federal prosecutors allege that Macias led a “a street-level drug trafficking organization” that was staffed by his own sons, who stockpiled large amounts of drugs at a home on Birkdale Way in Hayward, and made deliveries to various customers.
