Two of Boston’s most important arms are getting closer to joining the Red Sox rotation, Alex Cora said on Saturday afternoon.Garrett Whitlock, who started Triple-A Worcester’s Opening Day on Friday, will head to Portland this week. He’s slated to start Double-A’s first game of the season.“Most likely, that will be his last one before joining us,” the manager said.The 28-year-old righty underwent season-ending hip surgery last September, and the Red Sox have been careful about his work this spring. The search continued Saturday in a marshy area of the St. Lawrence River where the bodies of eight migrants were pulled earlier this week, for a man missing from the Mohawk community of Akwesasne.Thirty-year-old Casey Oakes was last seen Wednesday night operating a boat that was found Thursday next to the bodies of the migrants, however police have not made any direct connections between the deaths and Oakes.Akwesasne Mohawk Police said they are working with Immigration Canada and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to confirm the identities of the eight migrants.Akwesasne straddles the Canada-U.S. border, with parts of the territory in Ontario, Quebec and New York state. (KRON) – Police in Oakland, California, have launched an investigation after Los Angeles Angels star Anthony Rendon took a swing at an Oakland A's fan Thursday night in a confrontation that was caught on video. Major League Baseball is also said to be looking into the altercation.The video, which was posted to Twitter, shows the Angels' third baseman confronting an attendee in the stands, after claiming he had been insulted by the spectator. The incident took place the night the A's beat their AL West rivals 2-1 at the Oakland Coliseum.
